The last Friday of each month will be a special day to celebrate Book Adventure reading. Your child must earn 2000 points during that month in order to qualify for all the activities of the day.
Here are the steps for using Book Adventure:
1. Log-in at www.bookadventure.org
Your child has been given the code ____________________ as their username and password to assess their account.
2. Click on Book finder at the top left.
3. If you want help finding a book, make your selections and click submit which is at the bottom of the page.
If you want to find out if a book that you have can be used for a book adventure quiz, click on the Search by title, author of ISBN.
4. Look to see if you have the book at home.
Or go to the library to find a book.
You can check online to see if the book that you want is at your library. If the book is not at your library, it is very easy to request that the book be sent to your library for you to pick up. The library system will call you to let you know when your request has arrived.
5. Read the book. You can read the book to your child. Your child can read it to you. Or you can read it together. This will all depend on the level of the book and your child’s reading ability. This is intended to be a time to cultivate the love for reading. So please enthusiastically read with your child.
6. Take the quiz for your book on www.bookadventure.org. After you login, click on quiz-o-matic. Find the correct quiz by searching for it by title, author or ISBN.
***Parents you may read the questions and answers to your child but you may NOT give them the answer.
If your child doesn’t get 100% the first time, the test may be taken a second time.
***See me for your child's username and password.
