Therefore, you will be reviewing after you read a few pages instead of trying to read the whole chapter and then going back to review. You can divide your reading between Tuesday and Thursday just as long as your fold-it project is complete and ready to turn in on Friday. For instance, you may want to read the pages that cover the first 2 persons or events and find a fact about each one on Tuesday. Then on Thursday finish the reading, find a fact about the last person or event and then work on your fold-it.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Evelyn Strasbaugh
K/1 Teacher
Classical Christian Academy

History Fold-It Activity Directions

PURPOSE
The history fold-it activities are meant to be a review of the chapter for your child. Therefore, I am asking that a fact be written about each person or event. At the end of our study these fold-it activities will be put into a lap book in chapter sequence. This will give us a timeline of what we have studied.

STEPS
1. Choose appropriate fold.
2. Write the chapter title & chapter number on the front cover of the fold.
3. Label each section of the fold with the appropriate names or events.
4. Write one fact about each person or event onto lined paper (making sure that it is cut the correct size so that it will fit on your fold-it).
5. Glue your fact to the fold-it.
6. Draw a picture for each person or event.
7. Add any embellishments that you wish.
8. Write your name on the back.

Book Adventure

The last Friday of each month will be a special day to celebrate Book Adventure reading. Your child must earn 2000 points during that month in order to qualify for all the activities of the day.

Here are the steps for using Book Adventure:
1. Log-in at www.bookadventure.org
Your child has been given the code ____________________ as their username and password to assess their account.

2. Click on Book finder at the top left.

3. If you want help finding a book, make your selections and click submit which is at the bottom of the page.
If you want to find out if a book that you have can be used for a book adventure quiz, click on the Search by title, author of ISBN.

4. Look to see if you have the book at home.
Or go to the library to find a book.
You can check online to see if the book that you want is at your library. If the book is not at your library, it is very easy to request that the book be sent to your library for you to pick up. The library system will call you to let you know when your request has arrived.

5. Read the book. You can read the book to your child. Your child can read it to you. Or you can read it together. This will all depend on the level of the book and your child’s reading ability. This is intended to be a time to cultivate the love for reading. So please enthusiastically read with your child.

6. Take the quiz for your book on www.bookadventure.org. After you login, click on quiz-o-matic. Find the correct quiz by searching for it by title, author or ISBN.
***Parents you may read the questions and answers to your child but you may NOT give them the answer.
If your child doesn’t get 100% the first time, the test may be taken a second time.

***See me for your child's username and password.

Academic Work

Work Binder Sections
1.
